Metroparks' Touch-A-Truck is Aug. 18 in Strongsville

Kids can climb aboard big vehicles at park's annual event

Cleveland Metroparks will host its annual Touch-A-Truck event on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Strongsville Park Operations in Mill Stream Run Reservation.

Kids can have fun climbing in more than 30 pieces of equipment and trucks.

There will also be a huge "sand trap," with more than two tons of sand brought in by the golf division. Children can use their hands to create and design their own pieces of equipment in the sand.

Don't forget to bring empty aluminium cans for a steam roller demonstration.  Cleveland Metroparks ECO-Team will discuss recycling practices and tips on how to make changes in everyday life through recycling.

Cleveland Metroparks Nature Shop will also be selling merchandise and refreshments.

The first 1,500 kids will receive a free construction hat.

Strongsville Park Operations building is at 9485 Eastland Rd. in Mill Stream Run Reservation, off Valley Parkway, west of Pearl Road in Strongsville. Haywagons and shuttle buses will be available to and from the parking areas.
