Woman Sees Feet Sticking Out of Shrubs: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Strongsville Police Department

A woman walking on Prospect Road near Royalton Road got a jolt Aug. 25 when she noticed a pair of feet sticking out from some bushes near the sidewalk.

As she approached about 2 p.m., the man to whom the feet belonged got up and started walking toward her, a report said.

He then stopped and headed back to the bushes.

A nearby resident confirmed seeing the man and said he appeared to be homeless. Police couldn't locate him.

Another Homeless Story

Someone reported a green minivan with a man sleeping inside outside Home Depot Aug. 25.

The van had been there several days, a report said.

Police spoke with the man, who acknowledged he was down and out and had been sleeping in his van.

He said he'd been in the adjacent Walmart lot, but had been asked to leave.

Officers told him he'd have to move along from Home Depot, too.

Burglary

A Prospect Road resident returned home about 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and discovered someone had entered the house through a window.

Woman Missing?

Police were asked Aug. 24 by a local business to check on a woman who hadn't shown up for work for the last three days.

The day before, an employee went to her house, but a man answered the door and said the woman was sleeping. He promised to have her call later, but she did not, a report said.

Officers tracked down the woman, who said she didn't realize she was still supposed to be working there — she thought her consulting visit was a one-time deal.

She said she'd contact the company to let them know she is fine.

Gaggling?

Someone reported two dead geese in the middle of Blue Spruce Drive Aug. 23, and "the gaggle is standing around gaggling," a report said.

Police found no dead geese in the road, and the rest of the geese on a lawn.
