📰 News we're reading

• New Toronto fire chief a familiar face (heraldstaronline.com) — Toronto residents have a new fire chief, Ryan Boyd, a 16-year department veteran who helped secure new fire trucks and expand service into Knox Township. Sworn in last month, Boyd succeeds longtime chief Bill Scheel and joins a growing team that now covers about 4,000 additional residents after acquiring the Knoxville station and equipment.

• Wildcats turn up the pressure, top Red Knights to go to 7-0 (weirtondailytimes.com) — Toronto’s girls basketball team fell 61-36 at Edison, despite a 24-point night from standout Jayna Reeves and a short six-player bench. The Red Knights struggled with turnovers against Edison’s pressure but will quickly regroup for a road game at Wellsville on Wednesday evening.
