A Teddy Bear Sleepover and War Stories: At The Library

Check out these great events at the Twinsburg Public Library.

Children ages two to five can drop off their teddy bear at the library on Friday, Nov. 9 for a sleepover at the library.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, they can come and pick up their bear and see pictures of all the wonderful things they did overnight, plus enjoy a craft, snack, and story. Please register.

Be thankful for Friends of the Library Book Sale, Nov 10, 10 am – 2pm; 9:30 am early entry for members (lowest membership is $5 per year). Β Young Adult books – Buy 1 get 1 free. Science Fiction, Large Print, and β€œJ” $.10 books – Buy 1 get 3 free. (Free books are of equal or lesser value). Comic Books - $.25 each. We also have a new selection of sheet music/music books and great holiday idea books.

Come to the library to hear once in a lifetime stories of real people who lived through the nightmare of World War II, then came home and built a nation. Meet Mr. James Frolking on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. He was a US Army Air Corps pilot who flew both p-38 fighters as well as the p-51 Mustang. Come hear his amazing story.Β

Come join our volunteer team! The library is looking for a few volunteers for the following positions: Thursday mornings--You would be unpacking and processing our delivery of reserved materials and would be committing to approximately 3 hours each week. Friday afternoons--This person would be shelving our DVDs and other A-V material after it has been checked in. This is a 2-3 hour commitment each week. Digital Scrapbooking for the Holidays with Meghan on November 29, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Participants will create a beautiful embellished picture suitable for gift-giving from their own photograph or other image. Each participant should bring a digital copy of their picture or come early and use the library's scanner. A CD of seasonal scrapbooking resources will be provided and everyone will take home a print suitable for framing. Knowledge of with MS Publisher is required. $1 covers the cost of materials. Space is limited to 11 and registration is required.

Twini Mini Film FestivalΒ Tuesday, November 27th at 6:15 Bernadette Gillota, the artistic director of Independent Pictures, will be back for the thirteenth year of the Twini Mini. She will present a variety of short, experimental films made by independent filmmakers. Please join us for this unique evening. Kids Korner

Now offeringΒ Video Games for Toddlers, a program for children ages 2-5. On Fridays, until November 23, at 11:00 a.m. your kids can jump, dance, and play on the PS2 Dance Pad. Our games focus on shapes, colors, and numbers. Please register.

Teen Crossings

Practice ACT will be held for Grades 9-12 on Saturday, November 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Β  After school, grade 7-12: Mondays, Call of Cthulthu RPG Tabletop Gaming at 3:00 p.m.; Crafty Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in TeenCrossings.Β 

Teen Advisory Board-Tuesday, November 20, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Grades 5-12. Want to make the library more awesome than it already is? Join your friends and help shape the future of everything teen! free pizza and pop will be served.Β
