TWINSBURG (AUGUST 27, 2021) – It’s hard to believe 20 years have passed since an unforgettable and painful moment in American history, the September 11th attacks, now recognized as Patriot Day. As a nation, we’ll never forget and our local community certainly has not with plans for a memorial on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

The memorial is being organized through a joint effort by the City of Twinsburg, Twinsburg Township, Village of Reminderville, Twinsburg City School District, Twinsburg Public Library, and Twinsburg VFW Post 4929. The ceremony will take place on Township Square at 10:28 AM, the moment the World Trade Center’s North Tower collapsed, on Saturday, September 11th.
Order of Memorial Program Events:
1. Twinsburg High School Tiger Marching Band - "America the Beautiful"
2. Posting of Colors - VFW Post 4929
3. Pledge of Allegiance - Commander Joe Jasany, VFW Post 4929
4. Welcome by Master of Ceremony - Mayor Ted Yates, City of Twinsburg
5. Presentation by Twinsburg High School Students
6. Twinsburg High School Vocal Music Students - "Let There Be Peace on Earth"
7. Remarks: Rodney Wiggins, Reminderville Village Council & Tom Schmidt, Twinsburg Township Trustee
8. Twinsburg High School Tiger Marching Band - "National Anthem"
9. Retire Colors - VFW Post 4929
10. Closing Remarks - Mayor Ted Yates, City of Twinsburg
Those in attendance will be invited to sign a commemorative banner documenting their personal memorial of the 2001 tragedy. All members of the community are encouraged to attend.Â
