Could Michael Stanley 'Rock The Park'?

Twinsburg's lineup just got bigger.

Tuesday night Parks and Rec Director Derek Schroeder asked for extra funding to add Michael Stanley to the lineup this fall.

“The way Rock the Park is going, this is how I see the future, getting bigger acts, and maybe having less shows," Schroeder said.

The show would be Sept. 29 at Perici Ampitheatre in Glen Chamberlin Park.

But the cost of the show won't be like the typical lineup.

“It’s going to be a more costly ticket," he said. He estimated that general admission would be $25, but they would also sell VIP tickets for a higher price.

Schroeder said he expects to sell around 1,500 tickets, which would at the least bring in $37,500 (at $25 per ticket). He said revenue also comes in from sponsorships and concessions, mainly alcohol sales.

Council approved $45,000 for his department to put on the show Tuesday night.

Schroeder said he's already talked with Stanley's agent and the public about the show, getting the idea from the 30th High School Reunion committee.

“If you graduated from '79-'83, this is your guy,” Shroeder joked.

Stanley, a Cleveland-area native, has been rocking out since 1969, and has been a household name, especially in Northeast Ohio.

“Hey, Rock the Park can handle big name acts,” Schroeder said.
