Council Holding Special Meeting to Discuss Ballot Issues
Twinsburg City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to decide which invalid ballot issues should be put up for a vote in November

will discuss what issues they want to go before Twinsburg voters at a special meeting Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
They will discuss issues, both passed and failed, that weren't properly advertised before the 2009 and 2011 November elections.
, six charter amendments that were invalid from previous elections were supposed to go to a vote by council, but it elected to postpone a decision until all invalid issues were examined.

Β that included standards for hiring the law director, zoning classification of annexed land, combining two commissions and a mandate that council must approve any changes by the charter review commission go to the ballot.
In 2011, all three issues failed, including charter amendments that would make emergency chiefs unclassified positions and appointing positions through the Civil Service. The issue which would have banned outdoor furnaces failed as well.

In order to meet election deadlines, a decision must be made by the Aug. 23 meeting to get any issue on the November 6 ballot.
