Couple Tries Swapping Tags at True Value

According to , the owner of reported a couple shoplifting at the Ravenna Road store.
Wing Chaun Lau, 58, and Chan M. Deng, 47, both of Twinsburg, were charged with petty shoplifting, a first-degree misdemeanor, for the June 1 incident.

The owner told officers the couple had been in the store nearly four hours filling up multiple shopping carts.
According to the store owner, he saw "the couple changing price tags, removing product from packaging and placing a discounted price tag on the items and combining items to make them appear as a single item for a lesser price."

The two were spotted in the check out line when the man went to the back, where he attempted to shoplift more faucets, according to the report.
Officers said he had stolen merchandise in his pockets when he was patted down.
Both were cited for the incident and given a court date at Stow Municipal Court.
