We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Monday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you.

Why Go: Come out for a great night of family fun! Seussical Jr. is ideal for the whole family. Enjoy some live theater with the kids — culture is important.

Why Go: Come enjoy a few rounds of your favorite Wii games like Super Smash Bros., Wii Sports, MarioKart Wii and more.

 • CHILDREN'S KNITTING CLASS

Where/When: Twinsburg Public Library, Thursday night from 4-6 p.m..

Why Go: Just in time for Ohio's cold winter, learn to knit a hat, scarf and more! These sessions are for children ages 10 and up only, though parents are requested to remain in the library. Space is limited.

Pricing: There is a $10 materials fee, cash please, payable at registration.

Why Go: Bring your blanket and drop in for a movie event! Come see Toy Story 3 for free at the library. Enjoy a snack and the movie on the big screen.
