• COTA, WMATA introduce next year's budgets (masstransitmag.com) — Upper Arlington riders could soon get a direct COTA connection to Ohio State via the planned Line 30 bus route linking Dublin, Hilliard and Upper Arlington to campus. COTA’s newly approved 2026 budget also funds more drivers, added service hours, new buses and bikeway projects, aiming to modernize transit across Central Ohio. WMATA in Washington, D.C., is advancing similar expansion plans.

• Behind the worker-led push to unionize the Columbus Metropolitan Library (matternews.org) — Upper Arlington library workers are already unionized through the Ohio Federation of Teachers and are now serving as a key model and support network for Columbus Metropolitan Library staff organizing their own union. Columbus workers describe concerns over health benefits, leave policies, safety, and political pressures on library collections, and say unionizing will give them a stronger voice with management. Their effort could influence working conditions across neighboring systems, including Upper Arlington.
