• AgCredit awards $135,900 in Mission Fund grants to 10 local organizations (ocj.com) — Van Wert County Ag Society is receiving a $15,000 AgCredit Mission Fund grant to support local agricultural and fair-related projects right here in Van Wert County. They’re one of 14 rural organizations across northern Ohio sharing $135,900 in funding aimed at boosting education, technology, environment, and rural quality of life.
   

• High school football: Crim named to Division IV first team defense (limaohio.com) — Van Wert defensive back Micah Cowan earned All-Ohio honorable mention in Division IV, highlighting the Cougars’ presence on this year’s statewide football honor roll. The extensive list recognizes standout players from across Ohio based on their regular-season performances.
   

• Susan Elaine Coil « The VW independent (thevwindependent.com) — Van Wert is mourning the loss of 69-year-old Susan Elaine Coil, a Van Wert High School graduate and devoted Cougar sports mom who passed away Tuesday in Lima. A private family gathering will be held later, and friends are encouraged to honor her by supporting the Van Wert Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
