Westlake police said the driver was unconscious when officers arrived.

WESTLAKE, OH — A drunken driver passed out after crashing through a front-yard fence near a home in Westlake on Friday.
At 1 a.m., a resident on Fresno Drive called police and said someone had driven onto his lawn and through his fence. According to police, when officers arrived, the driver was unconscious in the front seat of the crashed Hyundai. The car was still running.
The driver was unresponsive to police but breathing, according to a Cpt. Jerry Vogel of Westlake police. Officers eventually smashed the driver's side window to get to the man and turn off his car.

The driver was field tested and taken into custody for operating a vehicle impaired, police said. He was then taken to Westlake Jail, where a breath test showed he had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
