• Former Westlake nursing home worker accused of identity theft appears in court (wkyc.com) — Residents at a Westlake nursing home were allegedly targeted in an identity theft scheme by a former nursing assistant who now faces multiple fraud and stolen property charges. She pleaded not guilty in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, and the judge ordered strict conditions including surrendering passports and no contact with victims. 
• House passes GOP healthcare bill as ACA subsidies near December 31 expiration (cleveland.com) — Westlake residents may want to watch Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno’s CARE Act, which would extend ACA premium subsidies for two years but add new income caps and minimum monthly payments. The House has passed a competing GOP healthcare bill that doesn’t extend current subsidies, putting about 583,000 Ohioans at risk of higher premiums as temporary tax credits expire December 31.
