An elderly man using a young child to beg could prove to be a new low.
On Aug. 24, at about 5:30 p.m., a Center Ridge Road saloonkeeper reported an elderly male was in the premises with a young child soliciting money so that the child could go to visit his grandmother out of town.
The grandmother supposedly had a recent heart attack.Â

A patron recognized the beggars as being the same pair he had seen at Westgate Mall the previous week trying to raise money for another reason. The adult male pretended he was deaf in that instance. Before Westlake Police were called, the pair left in a newer white pickup truck that was driven by a female.Â

Woman become Royal pain
An Elyria woman brought a bottle of her favorite alcoholic beverage to the area in front of the Regal Theater on Aug. 24 just after 6 p.m. She was already intoxicated and so was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct and open container.Â
Open garage door results in theft?
Approximately $200 worth of golf clubs and accessories were taken from a Woodmill Drive garage on the night of Aug. 28. The pedestrian door may have been left ajar; no suspects.
