• Avon police officer nearly hit by suspected Target shoplifters; search for 2 women continues (news5cleveland.com) — A high-speed police chase involving suspected shoplifters from Avon raced east on I-90, passing through Westlake before officers called it off in Cleveland. The white Chevy Suburban reportedly hit 115 mph and nearly struck an officer as it fled a shopping center. One woman is identified with multiple warrants; police are still seeking the second suspect. 
• Here's who won the 'A Home for the Holidays' raffle (news5cleveland.com) — Westlake High School students are among those benefiting from a state-approved construction pre-apprenticeship program funded by the same foundation behind the “A Home for the Holidays” raffle. This year’s $850,000 Richfield home (or cash) prize went to a Uniontown winner, while ticket proceeds support Make-A-Wish and trade education opportunities in several Northeast Ohio high schools, including Westlake.
