Starz Ballroom Dance Studio to Move to Sperry Circle

Starz Ballroom and dance studio, currently located in the King James Plaza on Center Ridge Road in Westlake, will be moving to 24510 Sperry Road (Circle) near Sharon Drive.

Anderson Sylvestre, who plans on taking the building from a rental to owner, presented plans for a conditional use permit which received approval April 29.

Sylvestre told Westlake Planning Commission members classes would not exceed 12 students. The move was a result of his growing business.

He will be using the 2800-sq-ft. space as a ballroom and dance studio that will be open six days a week. The studio currently provides instruction for a number of different dance styles.

Planning Commission member Bonnie Smith asked if the awnings on the building would come down.

Assistant Planning Director  William Krause agreed saying they looked “pretty rough.”

Sylvestre said the awnings, and a dead tree, would be removed.
