Suspect Pulled Wiring, Sprayed Extinguisher In Westlake Office

Police need your help to identify a man that entered an office building last month and pulled wiring from an electrical box.

WESTLAKE, OH — An unidentified man walked into a Westlake office building, pulled out wiring from an electrical box and then sprayed a fire extinguisher in a stairwell last month. Now, police are asking the public for help finding the suspect.

The break-in happened at an office building on Crocker and Detroit roads on Jan. 12, police said. An unidentified man entered the building at 1:20 p.m. and walked to the mail room. He then damaged the wiring in an electrical box and sprayed a fire extinguisher in a stairwell, police said.

Several light fixtures and wiring for a television were also damaged, police added. Nothing was stolen.

"We would like to track him down to get him charged so our victim can get restitution," police added.

The suspect is a white man, who police described as middle aged and tall. He was wearing a dark jacket and pants with paint on them during the incident. It's unclear where he went after leaving the building.
