Trust Steps Forward to Claim $41 Million Lottery Jackpot

A trust has claimed a $41 million prize for a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket bought at a Westlake store in March our partners at WEWS Newsnet5.com are reporting. 

“The March Madness Trust” claimed the prize for the March 12 drawing, the Ohio Lottery said. The trustee of the trust is John P. Thomas, the lottery said.

Newsnet5.com said the winner chose the cash option of a $21,294,806 pay out after taxes.

In March, the Ohio Lottery confirmed 14 employees of TravelCenters of America’s corporate headquarters in Westlake won the $41 million Mega Millions lottery pot after playing collectively for 11 years.

“After 11 years, yesterday was their lucky day,” Tom Liutkus – VP of Marketing and Public Relations for the company, said at the time.

The winnings proved an all-around boon for Westlake. The group purchased their ticket at Westlake's Deli-4-Less, which is located very close to Travel Centers’ headquarters. The deli's owner, Mark Hadad, received a $41,000 check for selling the winning ticket.

The winning ticket was bought at Deli 4 Less on Center Ridge Road in Westlake. The owners of the store received $41,000 bonus.
