Westlake Grad Doesn't Reel In the Big One on 'Shark Tank'

Aaron LeMieux sought $2 million from investors.

Entrepreneur Aaron LeMieux had a brilliant idea but โ€œthe Sharksโ€ werenโ€™t biting.

The Westlake High School grad had the chance of a lifetime to present his product, โ€œnPower PEGโ€ in an episode of Shark Tank that aired April 26.

LeMieuxย  wanted $2 million for a 22 percent stake in the company.

nPower PEG is a device that harnesses the energy from the human walking motion to power devices such as iPads and cell phones.

โ€œ(Itโ€™s) The worldโ€™s first human powered charger for electronic devices,โ€ LeMieux said of the patented item on the show.

Shark Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, asked how many units were sold and how the product would change the world.

ย โ€œWeโ€™ve sold 1,300 up until this point,โ€ LeMieux answered.

โ€œ(Itโ€™s) The worldโ€™s first human powered charger for electronic devices,โ€ LeMieux said on the show.

LeMieux said the product could generate energy from waves.

Loriย Greiner called the idea โ€œbrilliantโ€ but said it wasnโ€™t the type of product she sold.

Perennial bad guy Kevin Oโ€™Leary almost took the bait.

โ€œI think itโ€™s very interesting technology,โ€ O'Leary said, adding it would be a better solution than coal. โ€œI canโ€™t play because it will cost me $2 million to work for you.โ€

โ€œSomethingโ€™s got to change,โ€ย  Shark Robertย Herjavec said. โ€œThis could be part of the answerโ€ฆbut Iโ€™m not making the connection. Iโ€™m out.โ€

Despite, after LeMieux was leaving the stage, the Sharks remained complimentary.

โ€œI think heโ€™s got something there,โ€ Oโ€™Leary said.
