Westlake Thanksgiving 2021: What's Open, Closed, Trash Delays

WESTLAKE, OH — In a blink of an eye, Thanksgiving has arrived.

To help Westlake residents prepare for the holiday, we've compiled a list of some of the municipal institutions that will be impacted by the holiday.

Westlake's trash and recycling contractor, Rumpke, is closed on Thanksgiving Day. Any residents who have their refuse collected on Thursday or Friday will have their pick-up delayed by one day.

Here's what will be open and closed around the holiday:

• Westlake municipal offices will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
• Westlake Recreation Center will be closed on Thanksgiving.
• Porter Public Library will be closed on Thanksgiving but will reopen on Friday.
• The Westlake Schools have Thanksgiving Break on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
