1. MVCAP offers winter heating assistance (wdtn.com) — Residents in Xenia who are without heat or facing a shutoff can now apply for Winter Crisis heating assistance through Miami Valley Community Action Partnership’s Greene County office on Dayton Avenue. The program serves low-income households across several counties, with appointments available in person or by phone and required documents like recent utility bills and proof of income needed to qualify. 
2. Kids of Character honored (xeniagazette.com) — Xenia Community Schools has honored its December “Kids of Character,” spotlighting one student from each building for traits like respect, responsibility, and kindness. From preschool through Xenia High School, these students were recognized at Monday’s board meeting for going above and beyond to support classmates and create a positive school environment.
3. Xenia students deliver ‘Baskets for Battle' (xeniagazette.com) — Xenia High School students have once again organized their “Baskets for Battle” project, delivering 200 care bags to cancer patients at four Miami Valley hospitals. Student council members shopped for requested comfort items, packed the bags, and hand-delivered them, drawing heartfelt thanks from patients, families, and hospital staff who say the visits help brighten a difficult season.
4. Dolores Agnes Ross (ocala-news.com) — Longtime Xenia resident Dolores Agnes Ross, 97, formerly of Xenia and later Ocala, Florida, has passed away. She raised her family here, worked over two decades at the Xenia YMCA, and her family suggests memorial donations to 4 Paws for Ability in Xenia or Marion County Animal Services in Florida.
