📰 News we're reading

• ODOT streamlines operations with new maintenance yard (oklahoma.gov) — ODOT has opened its new Overbrook Maintenance Yard at 1248 US-77 in Ardmore, consolidating several Carter and Love County facilities into one hub to better maintain I-35. The centralized yard is designed to speed up winter storm response, reduce delays, and improve safety for drivers in and around Ardmore while also saving the state millions in long-term operating costs.

• Southern Oklahoma to welcome small farm hub to help conservation, community health (kosu.org) — Ardmore is getting a new Southern Oklahoma Urban and Small Farm Hub on Murray State College’s Ardmore campus, aimed at helping local producers and improving community health. Backed by state, tribal, and conservation partners, the center will offer technical assistance, mini-grants, a farmers market, and an educational teaching kitchen to boost regenerative agriculture and access to fresh, local food.

• Headlines: GOP primary results, higher education cuts & Tim Blake Nelson book (kosu.org) — A statewide headlines roundup includes a brief mention of a new Ardmore hub supporting small farms, conservation, and community health, alongside stories on elections, higher education, and state agencies. While details are sparse, it signals a growing local effort to connect agriculture and wellness in the Ardmore area.
