Changes approved for Jenks Public Schools 26-27 schedule (kjrh.com) — Jenks families should prepare for major schedule changes in Jenks Public Schools starting fall 2026, including early Friday dismissals for younger students and new block scheduling for grades 7–12. The district says the plan replaces lost virtual days and gives teachers more collaboration time, while adding an extra elective option for older students.
   

2. Murder charge filed against man accused of hitting, killing woman with car in Jenks (fox23.com) — Jenks police say a woman who stopped to help another person was struck and killed by a driver in Jenks on Sunday, leading prosecutors to file a first-degree murder charge. Investigators allege the driver and passenger knew each other and had argued earlier, and they’re also accusing the passenger of lying to officers. Police emphasize the victim appeared to be acting purely as a Good Samaritan.
   

3. PSO distributes over 30K free light bulbs to OK food pantries in 2025 (fox23.com) — Families in Jenks who use the Jenks Community Food Bank will benefit from PSO’s 2025 Shine a Light Project, which is distributing over 30,000 free LED bulbs to 33 Oklahoma food pantries. The program aims to cut energy costs for households in need, and any PSO customer can still access additional rebates and discounts on efficient lighting.

Gogel to design Master Plan for Tulsa County courses LaFortune Park, South Lakes (golfoklahoma.org) — Jenks golfers can expect significant upgrades at South Lakes Golf Course as Tulsa County hires architect Mike Gogel to create a master plan for new bunkers, irrigation, and other improvements there and at LaFortune Park in Tulsa. Construction could begin as early as late 2026, with an emphasis on making both public courses more playable, fun, and affordable to maintain.
