College officials plan a strategic process to invest in long-term sustainability, academic and career success, and community engagement that could benefit families across Poteau and the surrounding region for years to come. 
• Second defendant takes guilty plea, admitting role in 2021 torture and murder of Fort Smith woman (nwaonline.com) — A Poteau man previously sentenced to life for killing Fort Smith resident Tara Strozier now has his alleged accomplice pleading guilty to a reduced manslaughter charge in LeFlore County. Prosecutors say the pair lured Strozier near Cameron in 2021, where she was tortured and killed before her body was found in a nearby pond. A judge will decide in January whether to accept the plea deal.
