6 Kids, 2 Adults Dead In Murder-Suicide In Oklahoma: Police

Authorities were called to extinguish a fire at a Broken Arrow home when they discovered the eight victims.

BROKEN ARROW, OK — Six children ranging in age from 1 to 13 were killed Thursday in what police are calling a murder-suicide at a home in Broken Arrow, a suburb of Tulsa, according to authorities.

Two adults are also dead, both of whom are considered the primary suspects, Broken Arrow police said in a news release.

Police were called to the home at 425 S. Hickory Ave. shortly after 4 p.m. for a report of a fire. When authorities arrived, they found two deceased adults near the front of the home, Broken Arrow Fire Chief Jeremy Moore said during a Friday news conference.

As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire near the back of the home, they found the six children, Moore said. Investigators also recovered firearms inside the home, police said.

Broken Arrow Police Chief Brandon Berryhill said there is no threat to the public.

Officials said they don't believe the victims died from the fire. A medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
