Union High School fights teacher shortage with new education program (kjrh.com) — Union High School in Tulsa is tackling Oklahoma’s teacher shortage by training its own future educators through a new Educational Leadership class that sends seniors into local classrooms. Students practice lesson design, classroom management, and mentoring younger kids, while a partnership with Northeastern State University lets them earn college credit if they pursue teaching after graduation.

Twins visit Tulsa NICU nurses who helped save their lives (kjrh.com) — In Tulsa, twins born at just 23 weeks recently returned to Ascension St. John to thank the NICU nurses who cared for them through their first fragile months. Now 23 years old and launching careers in New York and Kansas City, they and their parents make yearly visits, sharing gratitude and hope with the Tulsa medical team that saved their lives.

Tulsa church donates $50k to aid 1256 Movement in restoring homes post 1921 massacre (ktul.com) — A Tulsa church has donated $50,000 to the 1256 Movement, boosting efforts to repair homes damaged by the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and long-term disinvestment. The group has already helped more than 30 families and aims to reach 1,256 by 2030, focusing on home repairs, ownership, and generational wealth for affected residents.
