Meet A Future Leader In Tulsa: Erina Katoh
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Tulsa is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Erina Katoh, who are making a positive impact in and around Tulsa.
Erina Katoh, a senior at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, is an accomplished scholar, innovator, and leader. Recognized as a 2025 National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, Erina’s academic achievements place her among the nation’s most talented students.
As a freshman, Erina delivered a TEDx talk at TEDxYouth@Jenks, where she shared techniques for improving memorization skills—an area she has explored extensively in her academic and extracurricular pursuits, including the Science Bowl. Her passion for innovation was further demonstrated in her junior year, when she won first place in the Biomedical Engineering, Engineering, & Computer Science category at the Tulsa Regional Science Fair for her project, “SPII Guard: Securing Personal Identifiable Information in Receipts Using Regular Expressions and Natural Entity Recognition.”

In addition to her academic and STEM accolades, Erina was named Miss Hornet XCIII as part of the 2024 Homecoming Court, showcasing her leadership and school spirit. Her well-rounded accomplishments and drive to excel make Erina a standout student and future leader in both STEM and her community.
