- Following a tradition that started following the Civil War, volunteers from the American Legion Post 1 decorated veteran graves in Oaklawn Cemetery to prepare for the weekend ahead and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. According to 2 News Okalahoma KJRH Tulsa, "Gordon Folson said, "What is important to not forget is remember, these people are just like your kid down the street. They wanted to have lives, too. They wanted to come home, have families, raise children, and have a happy life. But that was cut short. But they made possible all of the miracle which you see that is the United States of America."'(2 News Oklahoma KJRH Tulsa)
- Looking for a furry friend? The City of Tulsa is hosting a free pet adoption event today. According to KOKI Fox 23 Tulsa, "Tulsa Animal Welfare is partnering with Tulsa Parks to host the Fur-ever Home Adoption Day [today] from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Centennial Center at Veterans Park." - You are invited to taste your way through Tulsa on Saturday, June 10 for the Big Bite food festival. The event is happening on the Arts District race course from 4-8 p.m. Part street party and part food festival, Big Ride and Big Bite are bringing an extra layer of excitement to Tulsa's three-day Tulsa Tough cycling fest. "Tulsa’s favorite party on wheels!" This year the weekend's event will also include the best from some of the city’s local favorites with a ticket to Big Bite. According to tulsapeople.com, "Your all-inclusive ticket gets you festival entry, plus all tastings and drinks at Big Bite during the races, access to art and tech exhibits, and VIP access at the Big Ride concert at sundown." On multiple occasions, this group of female subjects, have entered local beauty stores and selected a large dollar amount of fragrances. After making their selections, they hurry back to the front and leave without paying for the selected merchandise. They've been seen fleeing in a white Jeep SUV.
