  1. The City of Tulsa is offering Moving Violation Amnesty dates on June 3 and June 10, beginning at 8 a.m. During these two days citizens can take care of unpaid parking tickets, as well as moving violations. According to KRMG, " In addition to avoiding late fees, they can also provide proof they’ve taken care of problems like expired tags or failure to have insurance — and possibly have the charges dismissed entirely." (KRMG)
  2. Operation Pit Stop, intended for bully breeds and mixed-pit-breed dogs, will be taking place throughout the month of June at the former Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center. The Tulsa Animal Welfare and the Humane Society of Tulsa are participating in the event, which will be providing free spay and neuter services, by appointment only. Vaccination and microchips are included. Each participant will be entered to win weekly prizes up to $1,000. For more information, visit Operation Pit Stop. (KTUL)
  3. Raising awareness about the rise in underage drinking in the state of Oklahoma, the Tulsa County Health Department is warning parents about underage drinking numbers. Reportedly, 31 percent of sixth graders and 35 percent of 8th graders in the state reported getting alcohol from someone over the age of 21. According to KTUL, "Oklahoma has Cody's Law, which works to penalize individuals who provide alcohol to underage people, supervise underage drinking, or are even aware of underage drinking. Even adults over the age of 21 can be fined, get a felony, and even get jail time if they encourage or supervise underage drinking without reporting it." (KTUL)
