Baker City Couple Turns Bad Day Into $75K Oregon Lottery Win
To cheer up her boyfriend after a bad day, RoxAnne Ferguson bought a few Oregon Lottery Scratch-its they could play together. It worked.

BAKER CITY, OR — Nothing fixes a bad day like winning $75,000 from the Oregon Lottery — just ask Baker City couple RoxAnne Ferguson and Ken Hackett.
To cheer up Ken after a bad day, RoxAnne bought a handful of Oregon Lottery Scratch-its from the Shell Station off Highway 7 in Baker City. RoxAnne, however, did not expect the gesture would prove so effective.
“We were in a hurry, so we just scanned it and it said $75,000!” she told Oregon Lottery officials in Salem last Month. “We did a double take. Then scanned it again. Everyone in the store got excited and we bought stuff for the people in line behind us."

Along with sharing their rejuvenated joy RoxAnne and Ken splurged a little on themselves and purchased a black and yellow 4-wheeler, the same colors as Ken's favorite NFL team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. But RoxAnne said she wasn't done there.
“We might even get married now that I have a dowry," she said.

“Yeah, you are a sugar momma now,” Ken added, chuckling.

And their luck didn't end there. While picking up their winnings in Salem the couple bought a few more Scratch-its from the Oregon Lottery claim center lobby and won another $120.
“Guess it’s just our week!” RoxAnne exclaimed.
