2 Men Arrested For Sex Crimes Against Same Minor: Police
A former Newport police sergeant and a parking enforcement contractor for the city were arrested this week on sex crime charges.

NEWPORT, OR — A former sergeant with the Newport Police Department and a parking enforcement contractor for the city of Newport were both arrested this week on charges related to sex crimes against the same boy, which allegedly occurred between January 2013 and August 2015, when the victim was a minor.
Bradley David Purdom, the former officer, and Michael Gene Goff, the contractor, were arrested on Thursday and Friday, respectively, in Newport. Both men are charged with sex abuse. Goff, at the time of this posting, was still in the Lincoln County Jail. Purdom, it appears, was released.
While both men are charged separately, their alleged crimes were reportedly perpetrated against the same young man during the same time period. It's unclear at this time whether the two men coordinated the abuse they allegedly inflicted upon the victim, who is now an adult. Also unclear is whether the men used their employment as part of the abuse.
