Oregon COVID-19 Cases Back Above 1,000; Hospitalizations Drop

While the number of cases rose back above 1,100, the number of hospitalizations dropped.

PORTLAND, OR — The state had seen three straight days of the number of new COVID-19 cases being below 1,000. that streak came to an end with the reporting of Tuesday's numbers.

The Oregon Health Authority said that on Tuesday, 1,160 new cases were reported across the state, bringing the total to 690,481. OHA also said that there were 35 more deaths across Oregon.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, 579 Oregonians woke up in the hospital, a drop of 18 from Tuesday. Of those, 110 were in intensive care units, an increase one from the day before.

The Oregon Health Authority says that the new cases were spread across 32 of the state's 36 counties.
