Oregon Deputy Apologizes To Trooper For Shooting Him With Taser

Cake makes everything better.

UMATILLA COUNTY, OR — A deputy in Oregon who accidentally shot a state trooper with a Taser apologized for the mishap this week with a homemade cake. The cake, which says, "Sorry you got tased," was delivered to Trooper Mitchell Goldman.

The Oregon State Police shared a photo of Goldman with the cake on Facebook, saying the incident happened as both he and a Umatilla County Sheriff's deputy responded to a report of a domestic incident.

"Upon arrival, contact was made with the male subject who became belligerent when the Trooper attempted to perform an officer safety pat down," the Facebook post read. "A scuffle ensued and when the Deputy arrived, he deployed his Taser on the subject. One prong struck the subject, but the other prong struck the Trooper in the vest, and since they were in contact with each other, they both took the tase. The Deputy felt bad so, later that week he brought Trooper Goldman this cake."
