Oregon Woman Hits Dad With Car, Pepper Sprays Him: Cops

BEND, OR -- An Oregon woman remained jailed Monday after being arrested for allegedly hitting her father with a car then pepper spraying him. Bend Police Department said Emmy Gilbert, 28, is accused of multiple charges, including assault against her 61-year-old father, Paul Gilbert.
Officers were called to the scene by Emmy Gilbert around 4:19 p.m. Sunday to the 19800 Block of Rocking Horse Road. A short time after the first 911 call, Paul Gilbert called dispatchers to say he had moderate injuries, police said.
Investigators said Paul Gilbert saw his daughter drive by his home before making a wide turn into the driveway and hitting him. The Jetta then crashed into the fence where deputies found it.

Responding deputies arrived and found the Jetta had crashed into a fence at the residence, police said.
After being struck, Paul Gilbert made his way to his front porch where Emmy Gilbert approached him and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. He ran into his house and she went after him, spraying him again in the back of the head, police said.

Bend Fire Department paramedics responded, and assessed Paul Gilbert at the scene but he wasn't transported to the hospital.
Emmy Gilbert was arrested and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail on multiple charges including assault, unlawful use of a weapon and reckless driving. She is being held on $85,000 bail.
