5 Events This Week at the Beaverton Library
Beaverton Patch bridges the gap between information and entertainment with a list of library events happening in the last week of October.

The Beaverton City Library serves as the cultural and intellectual hub of the family-friendly suburb. Residents within the Beaverton area benefit from a wide range of programs. Libraries are the great equalizer of the communities to which they belong, bridging the gap between information and community. Beaverton Patch lends a hand with a list of five activities happening at the library during the last week of October.
- Fall Artists Workshop Series - Social Media Marketing: Participants will learn the value of social media for art and how to use it to their advantage. Artists will discover techniques surrounding marketing plans and social media marketing campaigns. The Beaverton Arts Program is hosting fall artist workshops presented by Jeffrey Howard at various Beaverton locations. Howard will help artists learn bookkeeping and tax filing, marketing skills and how to effectively network. The meeting takes place Oct. 24 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
- Anime Club: Otakugumi (Anime) Club meetings are the perfect event for lovers of anime and manga. Attendees will enjoy Japanese snacks, watch anime films and meet with fellow fans on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. The program, held in the library auditorium, is open to grades 6-12 and is held 6-8 p.m. The next class is set for Oct. 25.
- American Girl Club: Families with children in grades 1-5 are invited to celebrate American Girls with crafts and activities. Interested participants may bring one doll to accompany them to the party. Registration is required to attend the meeting on Oct. 26 from 4-5 p.m.
- Community Coloring for Adults: Community Coloring for Adults gives attendees the space and materials to color while conversing with other community members. Residents are invited to stretch their creative sides while relaxing and making new friends. Skill is not required, only enthusiasm. The program will be held Oct. 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and is open to ages 16 and older. Registration is required, but the activity is free.
- Halloween Carnival: The spookiest month of the year would not be complete without a nod to its major holiday. The library calls upon all goblins and ghouls to a Halloween carnival with fun, ghostly games. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume! The event kicks off Oct. 29 in the library meeting rooms, located at 12375 SW 5th St. It is open to ages 2-10 with family and will be held 3-4 p.m.
