Beaverton City Councilor To Leave Office 4 Months Early
Marc San Soucie told colleagues that he's set to leave office at the end of August, officials said

BEAVERTON, OR — Beaverton City Councilor Marc San Soucie could have waited until Dec. 31 when a new city law would have made him the first member of the city council to leave because of term limits. Instead, San Soucie told colleagues at their June 21 meeting that his last day will be Aug. 31, four months earlier than he has to leave, officials said.
San Soucie said he was leaving for personal reasons but did not elaborate other than to say that the next part of his life begins in September, according to officials.
First elected in a special election in Nov. 2008, San Soucie had previously been the city's planning commissioner. During his 13 years on the City Council, he has worked on a variety of issues, including the city charter revision that voters passed in 2020 and downtown development.
