Beaverton Girls Clinch 6A Championship With Rout Of Barlow
The Beaverton High School Girl's Basketball Team won their first state championship. beating Barlow.

BEAVERTON, OR — On March 13, 2020, the Beaverton High School Girls Basketball team was getting ready to play Liberty High School in the semifinal game of the 6A championships. The Beavers were ranked first.
While they knew that Liberty was tough, they felt confident. This was going to be their year, they thought. Their first state championship was within reach.
Unfortunately, they never had a chance to make the dream come true.

That day, COVID-19 closed its fist, tightening its grip on the state, the country. Along with many other things, the state championships were called off.
So was the 2021 tournament.

This year things finally opened up and the Beaverton Girls were able to pick up where they left off.
They entered the championship ranked first and when they started play at Portland State University's Chiles Center, they played to win.
Coming out against Barlow in the title game, they quickly ran up a 19-2 lead and never looked back. Barlow did close to within nine at one point, leaving Beaverton with a 36-27 lead.
Beaverton outscored Barlow 18-12, winning the game, 54-39.
They won their first championship and closed circle from two years earlier.
