Beaverton Mourns Sergeant Brian Gaunt Who Died From COVID-19
Funeral services were held Tuesday for Gaunt, a 21-year veteran of the Beaverton Police Department who died a week ago.

BEAVERTON, OR — There seems to be little disagreement with the statement, Brian Gaunt will be missed. The 48- year-old was bid farewell on Tuesday with a funeral service to honor him. He died October 24 from complications from COVID-19.
Gaunt spent the past 21 years with the Beaverton Police Department.

After being hired by Beaverton in 2000 as a community service officer, he went on to serve as a detective, school resource officer, patrol officer, and for the past three years a sergeant, most recently helping oversee the Community Services Division.
Gaunt was born in North Bend and grew up in West Linn where he graduated from West Linn High School.

He served in the Coast Guard, earning several honors including for his actions helping rescue four fishermen from the ocean.
Friends say that while he enjoyed every job he did for the police department, his favorite time was working as a K9 officer.
His partner Ike, who is retired from the department survives him as do his wife and three children.
