Beaverton Police Department Names Stacy Jepson Interim Chief

Stacy Jepson, currently deputy chief in Eugene, will replace Ronda Groshong who s retiring. Jepson takes over on June 6.

BEAVERTON, OR —To replace outgoing Chief of Police Ronda Groshong, Beaverton didn't have to look too far. They have hired Stacy Jepson to be the department's interim chief.

Jepson spent 21 years working for the nearby Hillsboro Police Department, starting out as a police officer and working her way up the chain, serving as a detective, sergeant, lieutenant, and commander of the patrol division.

She has been Deputy Chief of the Eugene Police Department since April 2019.

Calling it an "absolute honor and unique responsibility to serve as interim chief," Jepson said that she has "spent much of my career policing in this area and working closely with the Beaverton Police Department.

"They are among the finest law enforcement professionals and I couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity to serve as their next chief."

While she serves in Eugene, Jepson said that she lives in Washington County where she lives with her wife Megan and their three sons.

Beaverton City Manager Jenny Haruyama said that the city "is fortunate to have such a qualified leader joining us.

"I have every confidence that Chief Jepson's experience within the region and knowledge of our area will greatly benefit staff and our community."

Jepson is a graduate of the FBI’s 450thExecutive Leadership Institute, the Oregon Executive Development Course, The West-Point Leadership Exchange, and currently holds an Executive Police Certification with the Department of Public Safety Standards & Training.

Hauyama said that the city is still considering long-term options to replace Groshong.
