'War Of The Roses': Three Brothers Arrested On Same Day

Jacob, Nicholas, and Patrick Rose were all arrested in Washington County Thursday.

ALOHA, OR — Three brothers were arrested in Washington County Thursday for two separate and unrelated incidents, according to Washington County Sheriff's spokesman Jeff Talbot.

Two of the brothers, Jacob Kelly and Nicholas Alexander Rose, initially escaped apprehension by Washington County deputies after an early morning stabbing incident in Aloha. However, they were later found, arrested, and taken to the Washington County Jail.

The third brother, Patrick Cody Rose, was arrested later Thursday evening after someone called police to request they remove a woman who had refused to leave a home where he was at — though it turned out she was actually experiencing a drug overdose.

Nicholas was additionally charged with hindering prosecution, while Jacob was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon, tampering with a witness, and violating the terms of his release agreement.

Jacob last month spent 14 days in jail after he was found guilty of shoplifting merchandise from an Ace Hardware store in October 2017, according to court documents.

Patrick, 24, was arrested on a parole violation and for giving false information to police, Talbot said.

The day of Rose arrests began when Washington County deputies were dispatched to a reported stabbing in Aloha around 7 a.m. Feb. 15.

The victim, a 33-year-old man, reportedly told deputies he'd been beaten and stabbed in the back during a dispute with Jacob and Nicholas over stolen property. The victim was transported to hospital and is expected to recover.

A Beaverton Police Department K9 for about an hour searched the area for the two elder Roses, sending the International School of Beaverton and the Faith Bible School into lockouts, but ultimately came up empty-handed.

The schools' lockouts were cancelled just before 8 a.m.

Around 10 a.m., a Washington County Sheriff's official found and arrested Nicholas near Southwest 187th Avenue and Southwest Johnson Street, just less than 1 mile away from the reported stabbing, on the north side of Tualatin Valley Highway.

Nearly three hours later, around 1:45 p.m., authorities located Jacob and took him into custody.

Several hours later, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 1800-block of Southwest 194th Place in Aloha just before 9:30 p.m.

Someone at the home had called police to complain a woman was refusing to leave, Talbot said. When deputies arrived, they learned the woman was overdosing on an unspecified drug and had her transported to hospital.

At the home, deputies encountered Patrick; during questioning he reportedly told deputies his name was Nicholas Rose, his brother.

The deputies, familiar the day's earlier events, told Patrick it was unlikely he was Nicholas considering Nicholas had been arrested that morning and was still sitting in the Washington County Jail.

Apparently unaware of his brothers' adventures, an incredulous Patrick reportedly told deputies, "I would know if I was arrested today."

Patrick was subsequently taken to the Washington County Jail for giving false information to a police officer and a parole violation (court documents show Patrick was arrested at least five times in 2017 for possession of methamphetamine and heroin, criminal trespass, and theft).

The woman who had overdosed also had a felony warrant for her arrest and will likely be taken to the Washington County Jail upon her release from hospital, Talbot said.
