City of Beaverton Seeks Information Services Specialist

The position is responsible for account maintenance, compliance initiatives and specialized projects.

The City of Beaverton has opened up an opportunity for a highly qualified candidate seeking to fill the role of information services specialist. The position is responsible for account maintenance, compliance initiatives and specialized projects.

Minimum qualifications include an associates degree in computer science (MCSE or equivalent course work) or five years of experience in LAN and WAN fields as well as experience in a lead role. Other combinations of education and experience that provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform required tasks might be considered. The individual must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to meet Beaverton's driving standards. Applicants will be expected to pass a drug screen, background check and provide references. Consideration for the position also requires an ability to pass FBI CJIS certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Essential functions of an information services specialist include account creation and resource allocation management, contingency planning, security review and customer relationship management as well as the installation and testing of various systems and application software packages. The position also comprises coaching employees on excellence in internal and external customer service, evaluating performance and program effectiveness and providing employees with basic job training and safety instruction. Further, the individual must respect and support diversity in the workplace.

The information services specialist position offers an hourly salary range of $29.20 to $39.13 per hour. The starting salary will be determined based upon relevant work experience. The City of Beaverton pays the full retirement contribution to PERS and provides employees with an opportunity to participate in a deferred compensation retirement plan. A tuition reimbursement program is available as well as a public service loan forgiveness program, and the position health, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.
