BEAVERTON, OR — An intricately hand-carved cane made from 1,500-year-old wood from northern Iran was reportedly stolen from a vehicle in Beaverton last week. Beaverton police on Tuesday asked the community for any information that could help them find the cane and return it to its owner.
The cane was reportedly among other items also stolen from a car parked in the 14000-block of Southwest Teal Boulevard, between Southwest Murray Boulevard and Southwest Scholls Ferry Road, on Aug. 6.
Roya Akbari, the cane's current owner, told Beaverton investigators her grandfather had passed the cane down to her, just as it was given to him and other family members for generations.
