BEAVERTON, OR — It was a busy stretch for firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. Two fires in different parts of Washington County at roughly the same time stretched resources a little thin.

The first call was for a house fire in Newberg. It was around 5:20 a.m. when they arrived on Sheridan Street. Firefighters were greeted by an officer from the Newberg-Dundee Police Department who told them that all of the residents had been safely evacuated.

While flames had spread throughout the interior and to the garage, TVF&R firefighters were able to bring it under control within about 15 minutes. Dundee Fire helped with the mop-up operation.

This family also had a cat. The cat was not injured.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring the flames under control and evacuate other residents of the townhouse.
