Former Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle Charged With Child Pornography
Federal officials say that Denny Doyle is charged with one count of possessing child pornography while he was mayor of Beaverton.

BEAVERTON, OR — Former Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle has been charged with one count of possessing child pornography, the U.S. attorney for Oregon announced Friday.
Doyle was expected in court later in the day.
Federal officials said Doyle "knowingly and unlawfully possessed digital material containing child pornography, including images depicting minors under twelve" between November 2014 and December 2015.

Doyle was mayor of Beaverton during that period. One official said that the investigation was initiated there. The images were found on a drive that was turned over to law enforcement, authorities said.
Doyle served three terms as mayor. He lost in a runoff to Lacey Beaty, who became mayor last year.

Before becoming mayor, he spent 14 years on the City Council.
Doyle helped start the Westside Metros Soccer Club in 1993. The organization, which is now the Westside Timbers Soccer Club, oversees more than two dozen teams for boys and girls.
He also worked with several community groups including the Beaverton Baseball and Softball Association, and he sat on the board of the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, and the board of the Westside Recreational Soccer Club.
If convicted, Doyle would face 20 years in prison followed by lifetime supervised release, according to the U.S. attorney.
Doyle is 73 years old.
