- Forest Grove City Councilor Donna Gustafson is suing a local Massage Envy for sexual assault. The lawsuit was filed in Multnomah County Circuit Court against a Massage Envy location in Beaverton that is now closed, as well as the national chain. The therapist has not been named a defendant in the suit. (Pamplin Media)
- Beaverton residents are concerned about the homelessness in the area. Resident Deborah Brown said an inoperable van has been parked on her Beaverton neighborhood street for about 3 years and the city hasn't been able to tow it due to people living inside. Brown would like to see the city do more to get people housed and the resources they need to get off the streets. (KOIN.com)
- The Beaverton City Library will be hosting a Baby Shark Party on Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM. This event is for kids ages three to eight. Activities will include reading shark-themed stories and singing Baby Shark. (Beaverton Patch)
- A juvenile hearings referee has been named to circuit judgeship. Michele Rini, currently a juvenile hearings referee, will succeed Jim Fun as a Washington County Circuit Court judge. Gov. Kate Brown announced Rini's appointment, which takes effect Oct. 1. as Fun retires on Sept. 30 after 15 years on the bench. (Pamplin Media Group)
- A 24-hour fundraiser hopes to raise $3 million for more than 200 Portland-area nonprofits. The Give More 24 fundraiser, which has raised more than $9 million for Portland-area nonprofits over the past eight years, begins Sept. 23 at midnight. The fundraiser will have $1 million in matching money available, so if a person donates a dollar, it will be matched. (KGW.com)
