- E-scooter provider Bird has backed out of a deal to put e-scooters on the streets of Tualatin, city officials announced. The company said unforeseen factors made it impossible to pursue the one-year pilot project it was hoping to launch. The city said that it will look for another scooter company to partner with. - In case you don’t get an invite, here’s a look inside the new Serena Williams building at Nike Headquarters. At over a million square feet, it is the largest building on the Nike campus. The building will accommodate 2,750 workers and is designed so that the process of concept to prototype to retail can take place in the same building. (Design Milk)
- Addiction recovery service resources are being deployed in Washington County as a result of Measure 110, which passed in 2020, but not everyone agrees that what’s happening is a good thing. In order to comply with Measure 110 — which decriminalized small amounts of illegal drugs in favor of treatment and counseling options — Washington County has set aside $20.5 million so far to fund the effort. Washington County District Attorney, Kevin Barton, said Measure 110 is a false promise that will only make the situation worse. (Pamplin)
- Need some inspiration for the next time someone asks, "Where should we eat?" Willamette Week shared the latest What to Eat This Week series, which included a number of Westside locales. Chennai Masala (Hillsboro) was labeled "a South Indian standard," and Desi Bites (Beaverton) earned points for a tomato/coconut curry with Hyderabad origins alongside more standard Indian fare.
- Washington County firefighters are joining in efforts to end wildfires in Wasco County, TVF&R reported. The agency said five personnel and two apparatus are heading east to fight the Miller Road Fire. (Twitter)
