Washington Lawyer Arrested For Shooting At Oregon Lawyer's Office

Attorney Erik Graeff, as part of an ongoing argument with another lawyer, allegedly fired multiple rounds at a Beaverton office Dec. 21.

VANCOUVER, WA — An attorney licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington was arrested by Beaverton police Wednesday. Erik John Graeff is accused of firing a handgun at the occupied office of a Beaverton attorney Dec. 21.

Graeff, 42, was taken to the Washington County Jail on multiple counts of unlawful use of a weapon and reckless endangering. Bail information was not immediately available.

Beaverton detectives began investigating the Dec. 21 shooting after receiving reports of gunfire near Southwest Murray Boulevard and Southwest Millikan Way around 7 p.m.

Investigating officers reportedly found shell casings in the area and bullet holes in a nearby building, which was occupied at the time of the shooting though no one was injured.

Following a two-month investigation, during which detectives learned Graeff was having an ongoing argument with another attorney, Beaverton officers working alongside Vancouver Police Department officials on Feb. 28 served search warrants at Graeff's Vancouver, Washington, residence and his office in Portland — in the process seizing two firearms and ammunition believed to match the shooting scene evidence.

It's unknown whether Graeff plans to represent himself.
