GRESHAM, OR — A chase that started in East Portland ended in Gresham with the arrest of two Gresham teens and one from Portland, police said Friday. According to officials, the teens were in a vehicle that had been carjacked earlier.
A fourth person, a 15-year-old boy, was also in the car. Police say that he was treated at a hospital and then released to a parent. That person is not currently charged.
The owner of the car, a Hyundai Sonata, told police that he'd been on North Cecelia Street in Portland when he was approached by several people, one of whom showed a gun in his waist, and demanded the car and his wallet.

Later in the day, other officers spotted the Hyundai by Southeast 130th Avenue and Southeast Division Street. Police say that they followed the car a little and then tried to stop it at Southeast 133rd Avenue and Brooklyn Court.
According to officers, the driver of the car was stuck on a dead-end street, and used the car to strike the police vehicle and kept going.

The officers called dispatch to ask for one support from the Police Bureau's Air Support Unit, which was flying at the time.
Police say that the officers in the air saw the stolen car driving recklessly through traffic, even heading into oncoming traffic.
Getting direction from the air, other officers were able to deploy spike strips by East Burnside Street and Southeast 148th Avenue. While the stolen car ended up with a flat tire, the driver kept going, according to police.
It eventually crashed at Northeast 172nd Avenue and Northeast Glisan Street in Gresham, police said, adding that four people then jumped from the car and ran.
Officers from Portland and Gresham along with the ASU and Gresham Police drones all took part in the search, which ended with four people being taken into custody.
In addition to the teen who was treated at the hospital and then released to one of his parents, Portland Police say that three other people were in the car and arrested:
- Treveon Philips, 18, of Gresham;
- De'Shawn Hunt, 18, of Gresham; and
- a 17-year-old whose name is not being released because of his age.
The 17-year-old is being held at the Donald E Long Juvenile Detention Hall on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and an outstanding warrant.
Hunt and Philips are being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of unlawful possession of firearms, attempt to elude police by vehicle, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Phillips is also being held on an outstanding warrant.
Police recovered four guns from the Sonata including a loaded AR-15 rifle and three loaded pistols. One of the pistols was an "unmarked, unbranded" gun, also known as a "ghost gun."
Officials say that the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be brought.
