Gresham Man Shoots At Neighbor, Police Say
James Bitz's neighbor wasn't hurt when Bitz shot at him after a fight on May 4, but police would still like to speak with Bitz all the same.

GRESHAM, OR — A Gresham man who reportedly fired a gun at his neighbor during a dispute is now wanted by police, according to authorities.
James Arthur Bitz, 52, is accused of shooting at his neighbor following a physical altercation near their homes in the 100-block of Southeast Hogan Road in Gresham around 10:30 p.m. May 4.
After the alleged fight, the neighbor tried to drive away. Police say that's when Bitz fired a gun at the vehicle.

The neighbor was not injured in the shooting, police said.
Bitz has a history of violent crimes in Oregon, the most recent of which was a felony assault conviction in 2009. All told, Bitz has been charged with assault six times since 1990.
