Brandon Anderson asked a fellow motorist for a cigarette while stuck in traffic on I-205. The motorist said no, so Anderson pulled a gun.
GRESHAM, OR — While stuck in traffic on Interstate-205 Tuesday morning, Gresham resident Brandon Edward Anderson reportedly asked a fellow motorist for a cigarette. When the motorist said no, Anderson allegedly pulled a gun and pointed it at him.
Anderson, 31, was arrested a short time later and taken to Multnomah County Jail on one count of menacing.
Portland police were called just after 10 a.m. July 17 after receiving a report that a man on I-205 was pointing a gun at another motorist. Officers located the suspect's vehicle, a maroon Pontiac sedan, as its driver — later identified as Anderson — was taking the ramp from I-205 north to Interstate-84 west.

This appears to be Anderson first arrest in Oregon in the past two years; however, his previous criminal history is extensive and dates back to a failure to use seat belts violation in 1997 — when he was 17. Since then, Anderson has been arrested and charged more than a dozen times for crimes such as driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), theft, burglary, assault and possession of both heroin and methamphetamine.
Along with the menacing charge from Tuesday's incident, Anderson is also being held on a post prison violation.
